Descrição

Cemetery Notes: The St. Peter cemetery land was first donated to the church by the James Mulvaney family when his wife Anna died in 1842. The James Mulvaney family came from Ireland to settle first in Pennsylvania, then to Pulaski county. They claimed land which is still known as the Mulvaney farm, at the west edge of the town of Winamac. It lies on the south side of State Road 14, near the intersection of County road 100W. It consisted first of about three acres. In 1972 it was fenced but there is no longer a fence around it. In 1976 two new memorials were added at the north side, One memorial consists of a tall lighted flagpole, flying the US flag at all times. The base is a bronze plaque which reads: "IN MEMORY OF GERALD SHANK JR. 1936-1964 - Indiana Captain Air Forces - Vietnam. Distinguished Flying Cross - Purple Heart. IN MEMORY OF ALL MEN & WOMEN WHO MADE AMERICA GREAT. Bicentennial 1976". The other consists of a tall marker with a large cross at the top and reading" "St. Peter Cemetery. In memory of Albert and Hazel Powers and family, 1976." The Cemetery has 7 Sections. Section 1 is on the South East corner and has 12 rows. Section 3 is in the middle of the South side and has 19 rows, Section 7 is in the south west corner and has 9 rows. Section 2 is on the North east corner with 11 rows, Driveway, Section 4 is West of of 2 and has 18 rows, driveway, Section 5 is west of 4 and has 9 rows, driveway and Section 6 is in the north west corner with 9 rows but the 9th row is currently planted in pine trees and is not useable.
