Alfred Pehrson Missionary Diary December 16, 1904 – October 30, 1905 Typed by Nancy Marchant Pehrson ( Alfred’s original spelling has been used) Dec. 16th 1904 I arived in Helsingborg and went up to head quarters and found President Ingelstrom ther and Brother Andrew L. Larsen ther fixing up the hall and office then I had some dinner Dec 17th In the morning I went out and looked at the town and then came back and wrote home and then helped to fix up the hall Dec 18 Sunday we had Sunday school in the morning and in the eavening we had meeting Dec 19 I helped to cleanup and studdy all weak til Saturday then prest Ingelstrom and I went over to Malno and tanded sundayschool on Christmas eve and axma night the had a Christmas tree and ther was 130 children present and only about five belonged to the church then we went back to a plase called loma and staid with a family by the name Ole Olsen then on the 26th we returned home then I staid ther and halped to fixup the plase and Study all weak and tanding meetings it was a new plase tha had rantid for hadquarters for this confrance and on Dec 31 it was dadecated January 1st 1905 atanded four meetings and had a good time up to Carlsons and we had a splendid time all the elders was in from the whole confrance for the Dadecation Janury 4th I laft Helsingborg at 10.20 and arrived in Krestianstad at 6.20 same day and staid with bro Jappa Nelson and willford Poulsen tha are both from Plasant grove Utah co Jan 5th I laft Krestianstad at 10a.m. and arrived in Kalmar same eavening at nearly 7. p.m. i am staying here with a sister named Helda Peterson Jan 6th The snow is very deep and we cannot git out so we stay in the office and studdy my partners are Lewis Anderson and Rex Person January 9th to day I looked over the Records and the books and trades and then wrote a letter to Iegarmanson and then went up town and bought some postagestam and then it was night 10th today I received a letter from home and was pleased to hear from home and sat down and answered it and then went up in town and posted my letter then had supper then went to bead 11th I went up in town and viseted and had my first Gospel Conversaton and he was pritty fare he would acnolede that I was right most of the time January 14th 1905 this morning I went up in the City and bought me a grip and ther came back and studed and then wrote a letter to Henry then went up town and posted the letter and bought two note books then it was night 25th we have been studeing all the time since the eleventh and preparing ourselves for work 26th to day we have bin out tracting and vasating 39 houses and had the door slamed in my face two times and did not sell a book but was insulted severel times 29th we went out do voiset in wedeby and one of our sisters who was complained of being in transgrasion but did not see her it was about 2 miles out ther and it was very muddy and hard walking 31st went out tracting and veseted thirty houses and destrebuted 30 tracts and has three Gospel Conversations and had the door slamed in my face three times and Called all kinds of names but felt well Feb 1st to day I fasted and studed and answerd a letter from home and praid for strengt to preform my mission and felt very happy and glad for be ing worthy of being a mesenger of the Gospel Feb 4th this morning we went out 6 miles by train and walked one mile to where we should hold meeting at Rafsmola 6th this morning it is fast day and we hald fastmeeting at ten oclock and at one. we hald meeting and had 25 in atandance and had a good time togather and after meeting we went and vaseted some of the saints then we staid over night with Peter Johan Nilson 7th we gotup in the morning had brackfast and walked one mile to the station and staid ther 5 hours and then took train for Kalmar and got home at 7 oclock in the evening and I was laid up next day with falling down when was coming home day before then i staid home and studed 8th In the morning at 7.20 I had the take train for Vexiä about 75 or 80 miles to meet an Elder that President Ingelstrom sent up here I should try to git a room up in Vexiä but could not find any suitable plase without to big prise so I fatched him to Kalmar and that mad us four Elders here when I got home I receved a letter from Henry from Bluff February 10th 1905 this morning I got up not feeling very well I cot a bad cold but wrote a letter to President Ingelstrom and informed him in regards to my trip to Vexä and what I had done it cost me 8.75 to go ther and back Feb 11th this morning gotup and falt prety well and eat brackfast and had to go up to express office and git a packadge of tracts about 2.000 and had to pay 1.25 express and came back and it started to snow and blow so we staid home and studid all day Feb12th sunday morning fastday which we strictly observed and had sackrament meeting in the fornoon and in the afternoon a public meeting and in the eavening we went to hear the salvation army but tha would not talk to us then we came home and ten oclock and had supper and prayr and went to bed feb 13th this is fine weather we had brackfast at 8 and then had to write some letters and then sent some photos to Hilsingborg and then I went and vaseted some fine places in the city of Kalmar then we had a debate betwen ourselves we went without dinner until about night then had pritty good supper and then studid til bad time Sunday the 12th we had fastmeeting and the sackrament admanesterd meeting opend by singing and prayr by Elder andrew J anderson of lehi sung another hymn the sackrament was then admanesterd then i bore my testemony and talked a little while then give the time over to the brothern and sisters and the all bore ther testemony then we sung another hymn and closed by prayr by Elder Louis Anderson In the afternoon we had another meeting at 2 we had only 3 visators but we had very injoiable time togather we all spoke and after meeting thay all staid and we had some good conversations withe them we then went to the Salvation army meeting and seen them same some but tha would not talk to us the people around expecting to here some thing but thay would not come near us and we staid til the people was all gon but we had to go without and conversation the people sad why dont the tacle them mormons we would like to hear them but thay would not then we came home and had supper and prayr and went to bead Feb 14th this morning I felt little under the weather i caut a bad cold on my lungs and felt very sore and bad but did not go to bed at one oclock i receved two letters from home one from mina and one from mary with a little note frome vera and in the evening i receved one from Joseph M Nilson from Oskarshamn where he is laboring I went with Brother andrew anderson up in town to find a taylor shop and then we came back and I went to bed Feb 15th this morning the weather was fine gotup and had brackfast washed and dressed and nocked around but had a heavy cold and could not do anything only study In the afternoon I went out tracting and vesited thirty nine places and had a good time all but three places the was very ugly and insulting but would not lasten to any thing that I had to say only wishing us to go to hell but it dont seem to discuradge but strengthen us in out faith Feb 16th we gotup this morning feeling well had brackfast and studid I got a bad cold yeat but not enough to lay me up but had a bad cough went up to the Lutherian Church and seen a preformans to show the Crusafixcion of jesus Feb 18th this morning the weather looked stormy and thick and i did not feel very well but studid all day Feb 19th This morning weather looked fine and being sunday we had meeting and had the sacrament admanisterd opend by singing and Prayr by Elder Rex Pehrson then sang another hymn then adminesterd the sacrament then I spoke for a few minuts and bore my testimony then Brother andrew J. anderson got up and bore his testimony the next was Louis Anderson he bore his testamony and felt well and wished to pres on the next specker was Rex Pehrson he bore a strong testimony of this work and incuradged the people to live up to ther covenents. next was Hilldur Petterson a Sister here in Kalmar she bore a good testimone and had a desire to do good we then sang another hymn and I closed by Prayr. in the evening we went up and herd the Salvation army and it was mockery from begining to end. Feb 20th this morning was fine weather got up and dressed and washed and prepared Breakfast then we sung a hymn then had prayr by Elder Rix Pehrson then we had some male to answer then we studid fore a couple of hours then went up in the City and took and posted our letters then I went and choped some wood the rest of the day in the evening we studid then we had prayr by Louis Anderson and went to bed Feb 21st this morning was fine and plesent got up and had prayr and brackfast and then went up in town and got the stars and then sent some of than of then had dinner then studid Feb 22 this morning was cloudy and I did not feel very well but got up and dressed and washed and we sung a hymn then had prayr then had some breakfast then wrote some letters and mailed them then had a council with Sister Hilldur Petterson about her trouble with her husband and then she wrote a letter to him as i told her Feb 23rd this morning was cloudy and thick we gotup and prepard breakfast and then sung a hymn then had prayr and breakfast then had a preasthood meeting to transact some buisiness called the meeting to order and Brother Rix Pehrson opend by prayr then I laid the buisiness before the brathern in regards to Sister Clara Gustavson and Gustav Petterson and desided to go and vesit Sister Gustavson and write to Gustav Peterson and request him to give an acount of himself and his conduct in the afternoon I went out tracting and viseted thirtyeight places and sold two books and had three Gospel conversations and seen some very bitter Feb 24th this morning got up quite early and went and bought something fore breakfast and then came home and sang a hymn and then had prayr and breakfast and then wrote a letter to Kopenhagan to get some money then wrote a letter to Halsingborg to Prest Ingelstrom then had to mail the stars to all the saints Feb 25th this morning ther was snow and clowdy we got up and washed and sung hymn no 259 then had prayr by Elder Louis Anderson and then took breakfast and then had to do some writeing then we went up in town and bought some thing to eat then came home and had some supper and had prayr by myself and went to bed Feb 25th (this should be 26th but since I am typing it as he wrote it I didn’t correct it)this morning I and Rix got up early and got rady and took the train at 6.5 this morning for Vedeby to visit Sister Clara Gustavson and we got out ther at 8 A.m. and found her home and laid our buissiness befor her but she denied all those Charges and we apointed meeting two weeks from date then we went back to the Depot and came home at two thirty and had some dinner and then studid til night Feb 27th this morning was pritty fair weather we got up and fixt up and sung a hymn and then had prayr and then had breakfast and then I answerd a letter from home and then went up ain the city to see some people about houserent and then came back and had supper and prayr by myself then went to bed Feb 28th1905 this morning we gotup aearly to git raddy for work washed and had prayr and a song by Elder andrew J anderson then we had breakfast then I wrote a few lines home to utah and then got raddy for work and went and tracted through mainstreet and vesited about fifty houses and had three doors slamed in my face I sold 10 Books then came home and had supper then studid some and then had prayr lad by Rix Pehrson March 1st this morning is stormy and wet we got rady and sung a hymn and then had prayr lad by sister Hilldur Petterson then I had some writting to do and then I receved two letters from home and was pleased to hear theat every thing was well then had to write a letter to Ingelstrom in answer to a request to meet him in Halmstad then it was night then we had supper and prayrs lad by myself and went to bed March 2nd this morning I felt like something wrong and i fasted and wint out in the woods and had prayr and called upon the Lord and filt a great releaf as we have a great deal of aposation and I took this way to gain stringth March 3rd 1905 this morning was fine and we got up and had the usuel round sung a hymn and had prayr and had Breakfast and then I don some writeing and then went up in the city of kalmar and tracted and siseted about 50 houses and not much incuredgment then came home and had supper and prayr then went to bed March 4th this morning was coudy got up and had the usuel ork to do we then sang a hymn and had fpayr and had breakfast and then got rady to go to Lyckeby to meet with the saints in fastmeeting when we got ther we found one of our members dead a young man name Joseph Carlsen he was 18 years old and we staid ther over night with Brother and Sister Lindell next March 5th this morning is fastday and I and Brother Louis Anderson we fasted and went to the funreral and we had a song and Prayr over the corps befor the went to the Church then we went and seen the priest preform the funrel ceremone then we returned to ther home and tried to comfort them all we could then we took train back to kalmar March 6th this morning we got up early washed and sang out morning hymn then had prayr and breadfast then I had to do some writing I receved one letter from henry and one from my wife and had to answer them and then had to go and meet President Ingelstrom he came to viset us March 7th this morning we got up and had our usuel duties and then had a Presthood meeting and transacted some buisiness then went and notafied Sister Olivia Palm to meet with us in presthood meeting nixt day March 8th we gotup early this morning and prepared for breakfast and then had some more writeing to do and then we had some instructions from the president then I went up in the city with president Ingelstrom and looked around then we came back and talked over the condition of the branch March 9ththis morning we got up early and washed and had our usual hymn and prayr and breakfast and then had to go up in the city and in the afternoon we had a presthood meeting and then had to go and notefy Sister Olevia Palm to aper in presthood meeting next day at 6 p.m. to answer to a charge of trangsgression March 10th we got up early this morning and had our usuel rounds and sung a hymn and then prayr had breakfast and then went and had a bath and then came back and had dinner and then had some very good instructions from President Ingelstrom then at 6 Oclock we had another presthood meeting and Sistir Palm came and confased to being in transgrasion and asked forgiveness and was forgiven by unanomus vote we then agurned our preasthood meeting Marchd 11th we got up early and got breakfast rady and then we sang a hymn and had prayr then we had our breadfast then President Ingelstrom and I went up in the city of Kalmar and looked around talked about the work to be done in the branch in the evening we had meeting agan March 12th Sinday morning we had fastday and we went out to valy to tand to the ease of Clary Gustafson transgrasion and she had promised to be home but could not find her so we hald meeting at Sister bergstrom and had a good time while out ther and we returned to Kalmar at 2 p.m. and hald meeting in the evening March 13th this is a beautifull morning and I got up early and went out in the woods and did not take breakfast but fasted and praid to the Lord for strength and fore the lord to strengthen my memory March 14th this morning I got up early and went out to the woods praid and fasted and sought the Lord in earnestness and I felt like the devel was working aganst me and I could not overcome only by fasting and prayr March 15th this morning got up early and took a walk out of the city and then came back and sung a hymn and had prayr and then breadfast and then done some writeing in the afternoon went up and foundout the prise on the boat to Helsingborg to Confrance March 16th this morning got up and done the usuel morning dutis and then studid then at noon I receved two letters from home and then answerd them March 17th this morning got up early washed and suns a hymn and had prayr and then breakfast then we went up in the city and tracted til noon then had some dinner then went out tracting gain till night March 18th this morning we got up early and had prayr and breakfast and then had a preisthood meeting and wrote out a complant against Clara Gustafson and then done some writeing March 19th this morning gotup early did not take breakfast but fasted and went out to wedby to present the complant to Sister Clara Gustafson but she refused to talk to us then we returned home by the two oclock train and had meeting at three in Kalmar March 20th this morning was cloudy and stormy we gotup and had our usuel morning hymn and prayr and then breakfast and studid all day March 21st to day I felt like fasting and I gotup early and went out in the woods and prayd and returned home about 7 oclock then at 2 p.m. went out tracting till night March 22nd this morning was fine weather gotup early continued my fast went out to the coast and had prayr and returned home at 8 then had some writeing to do and then went and had prayr and studid til night March 23rd got up and had our usuel dutis sung a hymn and had prayr and breakfast and then stuidid some then went and seen one of our sisters Olevia Palm March 24th this morning was dark and cloudy and I went out to the woods and fasted and Prayd and returned and went out tracting and distribeted 36 trats and sold 2 Books then came back and found Joseph m. Nelson had come down to visset March 25th this was a fine morning and it is a hallowday and we staid at home all day and studid March 26 Sunday today and we had two meetings and spent the day in conversations and in reforming our selves March 27th this morning was fine got up early and had prayr and breakfast and went up in town and and paid for som wood and and got a letter from home and answerd it we then had a Priesthood meeting March 28th this morning was fine and plasant gotup early and had prayr and breakfast and then receved another letter from home with fifty dolars in and it was regesterd then went and got masured for a pare of pants by the tailor March 29th this morning was fine and had a trip down to the seashore and prayr before breakfast and went up and got me a hat and had to start to make the quartarly report before Confrance March 30th this morning was plasant and I took a trip out to the woods as I was fasting and had prayr out ther and came back and went up and bought me a hat and some little things March 31st this morning got up early and got rady for breakfast and then got our things in radyness for confrance then we had a bible class then in the afternoon went and vistated with sister Olevia Palm and I blessed her little Girl and named her Tyra Chrestina Palm April 1st this morning we went to Lyckeby and viseted with the saints we arved ther at one oclock Sunday the 2nd we went up to Rodaly and hald a fast meeting and had a good time and at the close of the meeting I ordand Brother Ola Johanson and Elder and then I and Brother Andrew J Anderson went up to bokabaken and from ther to Rafsmala and arived ther at 8 oclock and viseted all the saints ther Monday 3rd we came back to Lyckaby and viseted with all the saints ther Tuesday 4th We went up to Stobatorp to viset some saints ther and invite them to meeting down at Lyckeby then we came back and help meeting same night and we had a housefull some investagators we had a good time togather April 5th We went to Helsingborg to atand confrance and we had a splendid confrence on the 7th we had one meeting in the forenoon and in the evening we had Concert Saturday 8th confrence opend and we all had to give rports of our work ther was twenty Elders ther besides President and Crans and fjelsted (i think these are the names of the mission pres. and councilors) On Sunday 9th we had sunday school at 10 and 2 we had meeting and at 6 we had another meeting and lots of valuable council and instructions and were all given our distrects to labor in monday 10th we had three more meetings and voted to sustain all the Church athoratis Tuesday 11th we took in the sites of the town and in the evening we had a kind of lottery gotup by the reliefsosiaty Wednesday 12th we had a priesthood meeting and in the evening a big Supper gotup by the Reliefsosiaty Thursday the 13th I started for Kalmar and stoped of at Lyckeby Friday 14th I went to see Rebecka Carlson in Karlskrona to fill out a blank of Emagration and next day the 14th I returned home in Kalmer Saturday 15th I receved 3 letters from home and had to answer them and allso send in my report to hadquarters Sunday 16th we spent the day in studying and conversations and has some viseters Monday 17th I answerd some letters and receved one from home and went and a bath tuesday 18th I went up in the town and bought some wood and took some stars and distrabuted Wednesday 19th This morning was fine and plasant and we gotup early and had Breakfast and had a notice of an other letter and went and go it it had a birthday present and fountain pen then I answerd a letter from Ingelstrom Wednesday 27. 1905 This morning I went and tracted over on anga and had a very good conversation and destrebuted 55 tracts and on the 28 I distributed 26 tracts and Sold 3 Books and had a plesant Conversation April 30th I receved a letter from home from my wife and answerd it and also had a letter from Rix from ystad and one from A. G. anderson from Halmstad and answerd them May 2nd Joseph M Nielson went home to Osearshamn and we went and hunted a taylor and I orderd a Suit of clothes May4th I went to Lyckeby and found Rebucka Carlson and the 5th I went with her to Karlskrona and got all her things and on the 6th she started for utah at 9.15 a.m. and went to Copenhagensame day when I came back from the station ther was a girl from Rödby siting ther waiting for me she was sick and doctors had give her up to die and she was as poor as a person could git she did not belong to our church but was full of faith and wanted us to adminester to her I told her my partner would come with next train and it would be late but she sad she would stop untill he came she was so weak that she had to rast 5 times coming down butafter we anointed and blest her she went home happy and did not tire May 7th we went to unanannoa and held meeting at 11.a.m. and had a good turnout and in the afternoon we went to Rafsrnola and found some of our saints sick sister Ingre Mari Peterson and we adminesterd to her and then we went and vesited Olaus Peterson he also was sick and we adininesterd to him also then we spent the night with Peter Johan Nilson and next morning the 7th we agan anointed and blest Olaus Peterson and then leftfor Rodaby and arived ther at one oclock and found this Girl anatta Gristafson feeling pritty good then we agan anointed and blest her and she felt beter rightaway we then stad allnight May 8th we went to Lyckaby in the morning and then went to Stobetorp to vised some saints and found them all well then returnd to Lyckaby and staid all night May 9th we went out to viset one old man in a plase name Cnasen and came back and went home to Kalmar Sunday May 14th we went out in the woods and had prayr and came back and went up to Carlsens and had a fine time and came home and had Sister Hilda Anderson come arad vesit with us and we went through the park and seen all the pritty flowers Monday 15th we got up early and had breakfast and done some writing and then had letter from home and answerd On June 3rd we went to Lyckeby and from ther to Bodeby and found Brother Olaf Johanson very sick we adminesterd to him and then we adminesterd to anette Gustafson and stayd with sister Broman all night Sunday the 4th was fastday we went up to stobetorp and help meeting after meeting we went with Brother P. J. Nielson to Rafsmăla Monday 5th we went to jamjöslet from ther to twisten and viseted two famelys and came back to Jamjoslet then took train from ther to Lyckeby Tuesday 6th we went to Rodeby agan to see Brother Olaf Johansen and when we arived ther he was dead we also learnd that Brother Olaus Peterson died same day we came back to Lyckeby same day wednesday 7th we went out to Knösen and vesited an old man and came back same day Thursday 8th we came home to Kalmar and recievd our mail from home Tuesday 14th I receved $60 dollars from my wife then i answerd her letter then I went and had some conversations with some men that I came acrose up in the City Gospel Conversations Wednesday 15th I receved letter from Ingelstrom that Brother Andeson had bin transfird to Christianstad then I answerd his letter and wrote one to Lena Dorius June 20th went to Lyckeby and on the 21st we went to Karls Krona and viseted some of our saints and our friends then came back to Lyckeby. June 22nd we went to Cnösö and viseted one of our oldest brothen and went to Röddaby. on the 23rd we went to lyckeby agan and viseted with the saints then on the 24th we went to Bostesjö and spent midsummer and had a fine time June 26th we came home to Kalmar and had some letters from home and answerd them July 1st we went to Lyckeby and on Sunday the 2nd we went to Bastasjö and helpd a fast meeting and had a very entersesting meeting July 12th we went to Borgeholm and staid ther over nighe then we started out next morning the 13th and tracted from Borgeholm south to Farjestad and give away 1.16 tracts and sold 15 Books July 26 went over to öland to Farjastad and South and tracted all the way long the Countryroad till we got to Skogby then tracted that town and went and seen the Priest but he would not talk then went back to kalmar. July 28 went over to öland agan and tracted noth from Farjastad and tracted all the way till we got to a town thay call augurum then tracted the town and viseted the Priest but he would not talk to me then I came home to Kalmar August 7 we went to Lyckeby and held fast meeting at 11.a m. and in the afternoon we took train to Jänjöslet then we walked from ther to Hallarum about half Swedish mile and had another fastmeeting at 5 P.m. and had a good time August 18 President Ingelstrom and Elder Ernest Swalberg and Hilmar Lövström came and we had a fine time August 19 we had a meeting and had the Sacrament and in the afternoon we had public meeting and we had a very interesting time Sunday the 20 of august we had another meeting at 2p.m. and ther was a house full and Prisedent Ingelstrom and Swalberg spoke very powerfull then in the afternoon we went and viseted the Slot and that was a grand time then we had Supper and went to bead Monday the 21 Prisedent Ingelstrom and I took Boat and went over to Borgholm öland to see the Ruins of the old Slott and the Beautifull Summer resorts and Parks and it was grand and we staid over night and heard the fine music and returned at noon and in the eavening we had another meeting and had about 75 atend. Aug 23rd we went out in the woods all of us and spent the day reading and chatting and in the evening we had another meeting. Aug 24. we had a Priesthood meeting and looked over the boks and found everything alright. Aug 25 we left Kalmar and took train to jamjöslet and then walked out to Hallarnm half swedish mile and arived ther at four oclock and had another meeting ther that night. Aug 26 we left Hallarum and went to Rafsmäla a distense of about 1 ½ miles and arived ther about 6 p.m. and was tired and hungry and had somethng to eat then went to bead. Aug 27 Sunday we had meeting at Ingre Mari Pettersons House at 10 a.m. and we had a whole house full of People and after meeting Prisedent Ingelstrom and Ravsten went to Ramdala and took train to Lyckeby he could not stand the walking and I Swalberg and Hilma Lövström walked through the woods and viseted some saints and got to Lyckeby that night then Swalberg and I went to bostesjö to sleep that night about 11 in the night Aug 28 we came back from Bostesjö in the morning and it was raining and we had a very good time through the day and in the evening we held meeting and in the night after meeting Brother Swalberg and I we could not git eny lodging so we had to walk all night out doors and it raind and was very muddy and bad. Tuesday 29th we had breakfast and then Swalberg went to bed and was sick all day and al night we held another meeting and it was well atended. wednesday 30th we had a Priesthood meeting and desided to organise an Relief Society in Kalmar branch and who should Preside. then we Parted and Brother Swalberg and Sister Hilmar Sövström went to Carlshamn and Ravsten went to Kalmar and President Ingelstrom and I went to Rödeby to look after some money belonging to Jalmer Johansen and found things alright then we returned to lyckeby and Called all the wamen togather to find out if thay wanted an organisation of a Relief Society and they all wanted it then Prsident Ingelstrom told me to come down and organise them and set them apart. August 31st I went with President Ingelstrom to the Depot and he went to Join Swalberg and I came to Kalmar. Sept 9th I went to Lyckeby and on sunday went to Stobetorp and help fast meeting and then went to Sösen and took train to jemjoslet and walked out to hallarn and should held meeting ther but the saints was not to gather and we had no meeting. Monday the 11 we went back to Lyckeby and at two oclock we had meeting with the sisters and completed organising them and set them apart all but second Counselor she was not ther. Tuesday Sep 12 we came to Kalmar and found lots of mail and letters from home and answerd them. Wednesday 13 we went and got some medicen and docterd for the itch and kipt on for sevrel days then Ravsten got so bad he had to go to Doctor and he sad Blood poisen had set in and he gave him some madicen and told him to not scratch it no more Sep 23 I went up in town and bought somethng to eat and came home and found Ravsten worse then he wanted me to adminester to him which I did and he was better next morning September 30 we went to Lyckeby and arived ther at 1.30p.m. and had somethng to eat with Sarah Peterson then went to Stobetorp and viseted some investigators and asked Jahanas Svenson if he objected to his Daughter gitting Baptised and he Consented then we returned to Lyckeby Oct 1.st we went to mana mäla and vesited somether and gave thim some tracts then went from ther to Ravsmalla and held fast meeting and after meeting went Back to Lyckeby and staid all night Oct 2.nd we went over to Karlskrona and viseted some investagators and a Family of saints and came back to Lyckeby and met with the Relief Society and set Christen zitterlund apart Second Councellor to Sister Lindell and in the evening at 9. P.M. went and Baptised Ida Sharlotta Svenson a Girl 20 years old and Comfirmed her same eavening Oct 3.rd we went up to Torskors and seen a Sister and from ther to Bostesjö and viseted some saints and had some dinner with them then went from ther to Rödeby and viseted tome Saints and staid all night Oct.4.th we came bck to Lyckeby and went from ther to Knösö and seen an old Brother and came and took the 3 oclock train to Kalmar and arived ther at 6.30 P.M. Oct 5.th I had two letters from home and answerd them and went and bought somethings on the torg to eat Oct. 8.th went out to Förlösa by train and then walked out to Bedby and viseted some Saints and came back same night Oct 9.th we took the 6 oclock Boat over to Farjestad Oland and went and viseted one good old sister and from ther we went and viseted another man that is investagating and had a Conversation on the Gospel and then returnd home same night Oct 10.th this morning I receved letter from home and answerd it and staid home all day had very bad Cold Oct 11.th we look the tin oclock train and went to Ljungbyholm and tracted from ther South along the Countyroad to Vasmalösa and had four Gospel Conversations and sold four Books and giveaway 3 returnd to Kalmar same night Oct 12th at 9. oclock I got a letter from henry and agnes from Bluff and answerd the same day and went and viseted some investagators and bought some things an the torg and came home and cooked some dinner Oct 13th we got up early and had Bracfast and was going out tracting but started to rain so we staid home all day Oct 20th we got up early and I began packing my things in to my trunk and went and had a bath and packed everthing up to leave. Oct 21st I started with the 10 oclock train for Lyckeby and arived ther at 1.30 p.m. and viseted with the saints and bid them goodby and some of them shed tears. Oct 23rd we came to Helsingborg and arived ther at 6.10 p.m. and on the 24th we started to tract the city and we cept on til confrence began on the 29th of Oct Oct 29th Confrence Comenced at ten in the morning and at two and at eight Monday Oct 30th Confrence continued two meetings and on Tuesday we got our apointment where we should labor then confrence agurned Wednesday Oct 1st ( I think he meant November 1st) I receved letter from home and answerd them I started tracting and kept on little at day and vesiting the saints and gitting aquainted on the fifth I cought a bad Cold and was laid up fore a week only tending meetings. then swalberg and Predident went of and staid for two weeks and I staid at the office and held meetings till the last of October This is where his journal ends.
