This uncommonly rich character, this unique man whose zest for life was legendary, was born to Aimé Labrecque and Emma Dion on October 22, 1922 in Spirit River, Alberta. During his 75 years here on earth, he positively touched the lives of everyone he ever met. On Thursday, August 14th, 1997 - in the afternoon at 13:21 hours, this pioneer, agriculturalist, naturalist, gifted aviator and master of the air, this free spirit who loved to rom the earth from above, breathed his last breath in this world and left us behind to undertake the last journey alone. As was his way, this last departure was smooth, without turbulence and flawlessly performed. Having known this man so well, we know now that God had deeply blessed us with him and that now God has chosen to take him back. We will never ever forget him, and will always remain deeply inspired by the memory of this wonderful spirit who we were so fortunate to have shared time with, to have learned from, and to have had the very great luxury of calling our husband, our father, and our friend throughout our lives. To Alphonse we say with the deepest love - go in peace with God, and God bless you always in the journey that you have now undertaken. Dearest Alphonse, husband, father, friend and beloved leader - we bid you farewell - we will miss your guidance and love daily until again we may be reunited in the love of our family and our God.
