1934 ~ 2012 Borge B. Andersen, 77, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012.He was Born October 20, 1934 to Julius and Margrethe Andersen in Copenhagen Denmark. Borge was raised in Denmark to the age of 14 at which time his family traveled to the United States where they made their home in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from West High and the University of Utah. Borge started working for the Salt Lake Tribune as a paperboy, then a copy boy and then spent 15 years as a staff photographer. In 1968 Borge left the Tribune to start his own photo business. During the next 40 plus years Borge devoted his life to his custom photo house. He specialized in food and commercial photography with a custom lab providing a wide range of services to professional photographers, advertisers and anyone seeking excellent photographic services. Borge taught photography at the University of Utah for many years mentoring and sharing his love of photography with countless students. He served many years in the Army Reserves, retiring on October 20, 1994, with the rank of Major. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many callings including ward clerk, Gospel Doctrine teacher, and Temple worker. Borge was a true photographer in every sense of the word. He had a skilled eye and a keen technical understanding of photography. He had a profound influence on a great many photographers. He was always willing to help them hone their craft no matter their skill level. The impact Borge had on all aspects of photography is immeasurable. Despite his gruff facade Borge was a kind, big-hearted, generous and charitable man who loved to help everyone he met. He is survived by his sister Ane A. Asper, of Salt Lake City; nephews Ricky J Asper (Cheryl), Salt Lake City; Mark W Asper (LeAnne), Salina, Utah; and niece Connie Muir (Ray) Salt Lake City, Utah; grand niece Sydney Ane Asper, grand nephews Johnathan Mark Asper, Levi Scott Asper, Mitchell J Asper, and Max Samuel Asper. Preceded in death by his parents. At Borge's request, there will be no funeral. The family will receive visitors in his memory on July 3, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive. A graveside service will follow.
