Man of Integrity

Boyd was a man of integrity. His entire life was dedicated to the principles of family, gospel and doing good. Those who knew him felt of his wonderful spirit. He loved sports and music and took pride in the accomplishments of his family. He was an avid golfer and loved good competition. Boyd and Betty were a wonderful couple who made Barnwell Alberta their home. They enjoyed each other’s company and welcomed all into their home. Boyd worked with the Taber Irrigation District and was also a farmer. All knew him as an honest man who was kind and gentle. Throughout his life he helped others accomplish their dreams and was loyal to friends and family. He left a wonderful posterity much too early. Shortly after his passing, his wife Betty also passed away. “A finer man” the world has never known.

Grandpa Anderson - Quiet Generosity

Colaborador: tfinney22 Created: 1 year ago Updated: 1 year ago

This story was part of a text message that was sent to Johnathan Shockey (grandson of Boyd Anderson) by Inga Anderson and (great niece) relating a real life event in the life of Roger Atwood upon their arrival in Barnwell Alberta. In a Fast and Testimony meeting Roger Atwood related a story about his family moving to Barnwell, Alberta in 1987. He told about how they moved into their house on Huckleberry Road (located two miles north of the village of Barnwell). After moving all day with their three (3) young children they decided to go to the local Bright Spot Dinner, Tak's as it was commonly called (owned by Tak and Katie Kano ) for a hamburger. The Atwood's didn't know anyone in Barnwell yet. They headed up to Tak's knowing that they didn't have enough money to feed all their kids and both of them. Because funds were tight they they only bought two (2) hamburgers and cut them up and they all shared them. Roger said, "There was a man sitting at a table next to them, he didn't say anything". The Atwood's went on eating and the man left. When they went to pay for their food they were informed that the man had paid for their hamburgers and drinks. He was very grateful for the gesture and hoped he could thank the man someday. It turns out that great man that didn't even know the Atwood's circumstances was Boyd Anderson! This story demonstrates the quiet generosity of Boyd. The descendants of Boyd Anderson come from an amazing family. Their heritage runs deep with great men with good character such as Boyd Anderson.
