There is no grave and the location has been lost. This is the approximate area where up to 30 Aboriginal people are buried. The story goes that Bunjil ee née was an elder a ngurungaeta of the Waiung clan, of the Brabralung group of the Kurnai of Gippsland. He was captured by the native police and held as hostage for the return of a white woman held in Gippsland. Chained to a tree and abused, he died along with his older wife. The younger wife survived for another three years. There were 2 sons both taken by the state to be assimilated. The younger died about 10 and the older at 18. It is a sad story that deserves a better telling and memorial
