DAVENPORT - Carrie E. Rauch, of Davenport, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at the Fejervary Health Care Center in Davenport. Celebration of Life services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at Weerts Funeral Home, and continues one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Garden Fund, or to the Aviary at Fejervary Health Care Center. Carrie E. Sheldon was born Aug. 17, 1908, in Clarvick, N.Y., a daughter of DeWitt and Cora (Orsted) Sheldon. She was united in marriage to Carl E. Rauch on Dec. 20, 1928, at Hudson, N.Y. Mr. Rauch preceded her in death July 26, 1980. Carrie enjoyed gardening and flowers, playing cards with her family and friends, visiting with her grandchildren, and reminiscing about New York. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Harold Grimm; and her son, Arnold Rauch, all of Davenport; ten grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Van Deusen, Hudson; a sister-in-law, Mary Cook, of Tucson, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Carrie was preceded in death by her daughter, Doris Youngberg, her daughter-in-law, Sandra Rauch, brothers Fred Sheldon and DeWitt Sheldon, and a sister, Hilda Paarman.
