Pat Kilpatrick Wright, 90, born April 22, 1920, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 at a local health care facility.

She was a native of Boaz and a long time resident of Robertsdale.

While living in Boaz, she was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and sang in the choir; was active with her husband in directing the Northeast Alabama Officials’ Association and upon their retirement was honored by local high schools as well as the Alabama State Athletic Association. She worked for many years as the restaurant manager of the Holiday Inn in Gulf Shores. While employed at the hotel, she was selected as the Employee of the Year on several occasions; she enjoyed all aspects of sewing and needle work and was accomplished in Smocking and in French Hand Sewing. A long time member of Robertsdale United Methodist Church, she was involved in many of the church programs; sang in the choir for many years and was active in the women’s programs and Bible studies. Her pet project was the Crismon tree, which she was instrumental in starting. She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters, as well as her beloved husband of 65 years, Trellis Wright. Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Buddy) Gregg of Montrose, one grandson, Chip (Jaymie) of Fairhope; one granddaughter, Christy (Bill) Brown of Tequesta, Fla.; one great-grandson, Taylor Gregg; sister, Lucile Johnson of Huntsville; several nieces and nephews. The family requests memorial donations be made to Robertsdale United Methodist Church or to Covenant Hospice or to the charity of your choice. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11 at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale. Burial will follow at Montrose Cemetery.
