At New Paltz, September 7th, JACOB G. DUBOIS, aged 80 years, 6 months and 11 days.
Funeral at the residence of Solomon DuBois on Friday. New Paltz Independent September 9, 1881
Obituary - Mr. Jacob G. DuBois died at his residence in this town on Wednesday. His death was not unexpected as for some little time there had been but slight hope of recovery. Mr. DuBois was one of the oldest residents of New Paltz, and has been one of the most honored and respected in the present generation of the numerous descendants of old Louis DuBois, the Patentee. Mr. DuBois' entire life had been spent in New Paltz, and since his early manhood on the farm, where he died. He leaves a number of relatives - children, grandchildren and brothers, and a very extensive connection of more distant relatives.
In his character Mr. Dubois exhibited the traits which we like to associate with the memory of the old families of New Paltz - prudence, intelligence, hospitality, and the kindred virtues that go to form the character of a good citizen. He was for an extended term of years a director of the Huguenot Bank, and was esteemed a man of sagacity and good judgement. New Paltz Independent September 9, 1881, Jacob...aged 80y 6m 10d
