Christina Middlemist Archibald was born 1881, (Reg. 13765/1881 Ballarat Victoria), 9th child and first daughter of George Archibald and wife, Helen (nee Middlemist) who lived then at 67 Drummond Street north, Ballarat.
George and Helen were married 24 December 1864 in Ballarat and had 10 children, William John, Thomas Middlemist (d. inf.) Samuel (d. inf), Thomas Middlemist (the 2nd), Alexander Cameron (d.aged 12yrs), George Whylie, James Middlemist, Henry Pemberton, Christina Middlemist and Sarah Wylie.

Christina enlisted as a Staff Nurse 6/12/1916 aged 34 years (unmarried) and served overseas with the Australian Army Nursing Service, next-of-kin, her mother, Mrs. Helen Archibald of 623 Armstrong Street north, Ballarat.

Returned to Australia 31/07/1918
She did not marry. She and her mother lived together in Brighton Victoria until Helen died in 1937
Christina died 26/02/1962 aged 80 years (Reg 4563 MALV Vic) and is buried at the Buninyong Cemetery in the MIDDLEMIST/ARCHIBALD family grave. An Australian Army Memorial Plaque acknowledging her War Service is located at the base of the headstone.
