New Paltz: Fred M Dressel of New Paltz, owner of Dressel farms, a longtime resident of the area, died Mar 9, at home. He was 91. He was past assessor for New Paltz, and past member of New Paltz Planning Board. He was a member of NY State Horticulture Society, and NY State Farm Bureau, a former member of Paltz Club, and past chairman of GLF Board. He was senior elder & consistory member of the New Paltz Reformed Church. In 1956, Dressel came to New Paltz and was employed by Roelif DuBois Fruit Farm. He purchased the farm in 1956 from the DuBois estate, and later changed the name to Dressel Farms. He was born Sept 22, 1901, in Guilford. He was the widower of Beatrice I Dressel. Survivors include a son, Roderick O of New Paltz a daughter, Carolyn P Dressel of New Paltz; 2 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.New Paltz News March 17, 1993
