Obituaries published in the following newspapers on Sunday, June 25, 2000: Sarasota Herald-Tribune (FL), DeSoto Sun (Arcadia, FL), Charlotte Sun (Port Charlotte, FL), Venice Gondolier Sun (FL), Englewood Sun (FL), and North Port Sun (FL).

Family visitation on Thursday at Roberson Funeral Home, Punta Gorda Chapel. Funeral service on Friday at Port Charlotte United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Survived by her husband of 58 years; one daughter; one son; one brother; one sister; and two grandchildren.

Olive was born in West Elkton, Ohio, lived in Mannsville, N.Y. until 1982 when she moved to the Arcadia area. She belonged to the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, a member of Sarah Circle of the United Methodist Women as well as a member of the Retired Ministers Wives Association of Port Charlotte. She had taught Latin and English courses in Ohio; she also taught English at Cedarville College in Ohio for five years. She died at home.
