LYNNVILLE — Harlan Gearig, 76, of Lynnville died Saturday at his home.
He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church in the Pilot Oak community and was a retired self-employed truck driver.
Mr. Gearig is survived by his wife of 55 years, Thelma Unruh Gearig; son, Mylan Gearig of Lynnville; three daughters, Rose Goossen of Louisville, Ga., Lana Holdeman of Sedalia, and Sonya Giesbrecht of Farwell, Texas; three brothers, Christ Gearig of Bradley, Ark., John Gearig of Louisville, Ga., and Lloyd Gearig Jr. of Louisville, Ga.; four sisters, Ellyn Peters of Stacyville, Iowa, Bonnie Heibert of Louisville, Ga., Sandra Smith of Butte City, Calif., and Faith Diller of Gallion, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Gearig; grandson, Brent Goossen; parents, Lloyd Sr. and Bertha Schneider Gearig.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Mt. Pleasant Minnonite Church. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Minnonite Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the church. Byrn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
