James L. Schwartz, 64, of Valley City, passed away peacefully Monday, April 28, 2014. Jim was born January 11, 1950 in Medina, to the late John and Esther (nee Reutter) Schwartz. He was a lifelong resident of Valley City.

Jim was a 1968 graduate of Buckeye High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1972. Jim was an active member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Valley City. Jim was employee of Mack Industries for the past 36 years.

Jim was a dedicated caregiver to his father and brother. In the early years of his life, Jim enjoyed traveling and working crossword puzzles.

Jim will be missed by his family: brother, Floyd of Valley City; sisters, Doris (Robert) Hochmuth of North Carolina and Betty (Richard) Milum of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Judy Schwartz of Valley City

Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Schwartz in 2013.

There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Emmanuel United Church of Christ.

Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City.
