The town of Gardiner has lost one of its best citizens in the death of Peter W DuBois, at his home near Libertyville. Mr DuBois was 78 and had been in poor health for months. He was a man who was universally liked because of the generous friendliness of his disposition. He was one of the old stamp of Huguenot farmers-honest as the day is long, plain and modest, but intelligent and an interesting talker. He had a good memory and took much interest in matters relating to the early history of the neighborhood in which he lived. The house in which he lived had been occupied by his father Wilhelmus and in that neighborhood his ancestors had resided dating back to the time of Solomon son of Louis the Patentee.
