The following was written in June 1962 in Vol. 1 No. 1 of the Dewsnup Family Ties Newsletter "Frank Dewsnup, son of Hyrum Dewsnup and Emily Mace Dewsnup, at 82 years of age still owns and largely manages a hotel in St. George, Utah. He would love to have members of the family stop by and say Hello as they pass through. Frank has a host of friends and acquaintances in Southern California where he was formerly a member of the San Fernando Stake Presidency. He and a partner have owned the hotel for a number of years, but the partner has left much of the management to Frank in recent years. Stop by on your next trip!"

Written up in Dewsnup Family Ties - Vol II, No 1 p. 18 "Our attention this issue is focused on Uncle Frank who, at the ripe old age of ? is the oldest of the surviving offspring of Hyrum Dewsnup and Emily Mace. He might properly be called the Dean of the Hyrum Dewsnup Clan of the Association. He may have cousins still living who are a little older but probably few if any of them still do a full day's work as does he, being the active manager of a busy Motel on a busy highway in St. George, Utah. All day, every day for a week and then every night for the next week, he has the active management of the property of which he is co-owner. He checks the guest in and out, makes the beds, takes care of the maintenance, repairs, gardening, etc. Frank accompanied his Father Hyrum to Gridley as a young man in 1906 and is well acquainted with the beginning of the Mormon Colony there, having helped make some of it's history with his father. When the Gridley colony was organized and a Branch of the Church established, he became Branch President three different times. When the Branch later became a Ward he was Ward Clerk for two years. During his long lifetime he has been on four missions for the Church, three of them in California. As a District Pres., he opened up the Central Valley. He was also a District President in the Fresno area. And on another mission to Calif. in 1929-1930 as Dist. Pres. of the San Diego area he opened up the Imperial Valley. He also served one mission in the Northern States under B.H. Roberts in Mich. and Ind. back in 1902. He was for some time head of the Farm Bureau in the Gridley area. He was always keenly interested in civic affairs and even captained a Red Cross drive in Gridley and served as Chairman of Butte County. He also served on the Gridley High School Board for three terms. In later life, he moved to Glendale, Calif. Here he became First Counselor in the Bishopric and in due time progressed to added influence and leadership as a Counselor in the Stake Presidency and becoming a member of the Glendale Stake High Council. He was also, for five years the Genealogical Chairman of the Glendale Stake. It was during this period that his wife Verna commenced the labors that resulted in so much of the early research of the Dewsnup line. Always an actively interested missionary for the Church, Frank takes much pleasure in talking to guests at the Motel and last year sold 125 copies of the Book of Mormon at the motel, distributing more copied than did the the regularly appointed stake missionaries in his stake. When the new system of fellowshipping the new members and those newly arrived in the Ward was inaugurated last years, Frank and Verna were placed on the Fellowshipping Committee where they are finding much happiness in this type of service. They love the work and frank's wide acquaintance in the St. George and his long years of experience in the Church has really paid off in this latest calling. Frank and his wife Verna regularly go the St. George temple to engage in the ordinance work and both of them find happiness and usefulness as veil workers. "Age" says Frank "is just a state of mind" But he is slowing up just a little.
