Obituary: La Vinia M. Cawley, 88, of Springfield, formerly of Kankakee, died Sunday at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born July 31, 1908 in Riverton, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Jane Wilson Jones.

She married William A. Cawley in 1941; he died in 1958. A Springfield resident since 1993, she worked for Central Illinois Public Service for 18 years and was a member of Riverton Methodist Church. Survivors: a daughter, Eileen Kendle of Sherman; a granddaughter; a sister, Myrtle T. Rusciolelli of Riverton; several nieces and nephews. Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Staab Funeral Home, the Rev. Bill Barrett officiating. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Riverton.
