Lawrence Allen Combs, 79, died July 1, 2004 in Klamath Falls from cancer.
A Service of Tribute and Love will be held at the Living Hope Christian Fellowship at Hosanna School at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, with Rev. Ernie Mathes officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Cremation and private family inurnment will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens. Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Combs was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Glasgow, Mont., to Alber and Anna Nord Combs. He grew up there, graduating from Glasgow High School. He worked on the Anderson Ranch Dam and as a parts man for the Ford Garage in Glasgow.
On June 30, 1979, he married Margaret Olson in Glasgow. In retirement, they moved to Havre, Mont., and have lived in Klamath Falls since 1992.
He was active in Bible study and was a member of Living Hope Christian Fellowship. Gardening, airplanes and air shows, listening to Gaither music and hymns and his dog Puglet were special interests. He was most fond of the NAIA Division II national championship ring from Oregon Institute of Technology that his son gave him.
Mr. Combs is survived by his wife Margaret Combs of Klamath Falls; son John Combs of Klamath Falls; sisters Laurabelle Campbell of Stevensville, Mont. and Blanche Woodall of Boise, Idaho; sisters-in-law Janet Olson of Martinez, Calif.; Martha Wainola of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and Amy Olson of Clovis, Calif.; brother-in-law Cmdr. Theodore Olson of Mechanicsburg, Penn., and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Helen Combs and Ida Sturdevant, brothers Clinton and Clifford Combs, and two nephews Bernard and James Combs.
