The new year rolls around again
And I count my blessings o'er
My soul is full of thoughts and love
That I've not expressed before.
As I pause to think and meditate
And compare one Joy with another
The grandest blessing of my life
Has been to have you for my Mother.
The Lord understood my weaknesses-
I would need patience, help & love
That's why he sent me down to you,
From His greatest Realm above.
When was the time that I received
My first happiness here on earth?
Twas that precious day you welcomed me,
My blessed day of birth.
So in my hit parade of blessings
Mother dear you're number one
I'd like to try to tell you why
before the day in done.
Your name stands for loving thoughtfulness
And many sing your praise
For your deeds of compassionate service
For your neighborly, friendly ways
Hard work has filled your daily routine
Caring for parents, family, and friends
Tolerant of others faults and failings
Anxious to make amends.
Faithful to the laws of the Gospel
Your family was taught by example true
To be active and loyal in the Church
and All righteousness pursue.
Through sorrow and discouragement
You've kept your dignity and pride;
Seeking the Lord in humility
To be your constant guide.
Through sacrifice and hardship
You've given your loved ones the best
Of the good things of life you felt we deserved
You kept us up with the rest.
Culture, beauty, and refinement
You brought into our life
Education and experiences
To make us good husbands and wives.
We love you for our days of fun
Our Happy times together
When you planned and joined our frolic
No matter what the weather.
The meticulous gifts you've sewn
Jackets, shirts, and dresses,
Have been greatly enjoyed by all of us;
The daughters, sons and son in laws confess.
All your grand children love and adore you
And extend a constant invitation
To visit them and laugh and talk
You're truly their inspiration.
Active, beautiful, intelligent.
Ambitious, noble, good-
Lending a helping hand to those in need.
Doing all things that you should.
Thank you, Dear Mother for all you've done
To make life so sweet
For your smile and words of encouragement
For your prayers and love complete
I shall always love and honor you
And pray that the Lord will bless
You with health, peace, and contentment
Then Eternal Happiness.
Your New Years Daughter

PS I'm sure the rest of my Brothers and Sisters will say the same about your mother, we do love you, and thank you for everything.
Have fun, keep well and we'll be thinking of you.
