Luther P. Freer, of the 44th (Ellsworth) regiment, has returned home sick. He was taken prisoner in the seven days battle before Richmond, and carried to that city. The hardships he there suffered fastened the seeds of disease in his system, from which he is still suffering. From New Paltz Times December 19, 1862
