BETTENDORF — Marita Massie, 89, of Bettendorf died Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Trinity Bettendorf. Services in celebration of her life will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 8, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, where her friends will greet others one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Grandview Baptist Church, of which she was a lifetime member.

Ms. Massie was born in 1925 in Springfield, Ohio, to Ammon and Wanda Massie. She graduated from the former Davenport High School in 1943. She worked for the former Davenport Bank as a bookkeeper for 47½ years, retiring in 1990.

She is survived by two special cousins, Fred Koerner and Louise Ann Richardson; and friends, Linda Meier, Marg Lohman, Ron and Sherryl Kool, Linda Leedall, Lorene Stroud and Pastor Brian and Barb Spitzer. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Louise.
