ROCK ISLAND - Mildred D. Hansen, 99, of Rock Island, formerly of Davenport, died Sunday, November 9, 2008, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center, Rock Island.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Davenport.

Mildred was born on February 27, 1909, in Davenport, the daughter of Romeo and Hattie (nee Wolfe) Cockrell. She married Arlo C. Hansen on July 25, 1935, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1991.

Mildred was a homemaker for most of her adult life. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Davenport. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, playing cards, and traveling with her family, with a fondness for Colorado Springs, and her many trips to Chicago around Christmas. She also enjoyed the time spent with her good friends, Betty Wheeler and Mildred Golofsky.

Survivors include her son, Terry Hansen, and daughter-in-law, Mary Cronin, Alexandria, Va.; grandson, Charles Scott Hansen, Bethesda, Md.; and nephews, David, and wife, Carol Rohr, Riverside, Calif., and Michael Rohr, Rock Island.

In addition to her husband, her parents and an identical twin sister, Bernice, preceded her in death.
