Mr Simon L DuBois died at Rosendale on Sunday. He was buried in New Paltz Cemetery on Tuesday. He had been in feeble health for some time and his death occurred at last in the village, where in his younger days he had carried on extensive mercantile business and acquired a fortune which was subsequently lost by the decline in real estate, after it had been materially lessened by his large contributions to various worthy objects. From New Paltz Independent February 3, 1881.
