Merriel Cleveland Dewsnup 1941 ~ 2007 Merriel Cleveland Dewsnup passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007. He is now reunited with his wife, Toni who passed away in 2001. Merriel was dearly loved, and will be deeply missed.
Merriel was born July 13, 1941, the son of John Dewsnup and Bessie Mitchell. England is where he served his LDS mission. He married Antionette (Toni) Young May 14, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Also, he graduated from the University of Utah. He worked for several companies utilizing his talents and skills in the area of computer technology. He was last employed by the LDS church in the Facility Management Group. Merriel served in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and loved his work there. He recently certified as a Professional Genealogist and spent much of his spare time researching family history. He served in many callings in his ward including clerk, high priest group leader and teacher, but he always felt his most important callings were that of son, husband, father and grandpa.
Survived by his mother, Bessie Cates (Ralph), St. George, UT; three children and 10 grandchildren: Janeal (Bryan) Irving, Ben, Josalyn, Jacob, Jenna, and Bradley, Alpine, UT; Denise (Steve) Reid, Kevin and Brandon, Clearfield, UT; Ryan (Jennifer) Dewsnup, Sharreen, Megan and Brayden, Eagle Mountain, UT; two brothers: Jerry (Deanna), Sandy, UT; and Lawrence (Alecia) Dewsnup, Las Vegas, NV.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grandview 3rd Ward, 2851 South 2000 East. A viewing will be held on Sun. evening, February 25, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East and from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
