Radia Clawson Anderson Cottle (Maughan)

Description

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Radia Clawson Maughan Anderson Cottle, passed away on October 24, 2010. Mother was so grateful to be able to stay in her home which gave her so much peace and comfort. She resided at 751 East Silver Shadows Drive (6440 South) in Murray, Utah at the time of her death.

She was born September 29, 1917 in Wellsville, UT to Irvine and Hilda Clawson Maughan. She was the oldest of seven children.

She married Rulon Hans Anderson in 1934; solemnized in the Logan Temple. Rulon died in 1951. She married Wayne Eugene Cottle in 1955; later divorced.

Mother was well-known as a fabulous cook and candy maker. Family and friends looked forward to her homemade candy at Christmas. Mom had the gift of making friends easily and enjoyed good conversations. She retired from JC Penny's after many years of service.

Survived by her children: Dennis (Linda) Anderson, Kathy (Mel), Mike Anderson, Debbie (Tom) McClain, Steve Cottle, Sherrie (Dennis) Rawlings; sisters: Rhea and June; brother: Lynn; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Clark, Wayne and Carl Maughan; daughter, Patricia Jessop; and son-in-law, Mel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Murray Eighteenth Ward Chapel, 6370 South 725 East. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at the Church.

Interment: Hyrum City Cemetery.
