Description

R.H.: A native of Kentucky. A member of the Pioneer Association of San Francisco, California. Who crossed the plains on backs of mules arriving at the Cold Diggings July 1849. He has been a total obstainer from intoxicating liquors and tobacco for more than forty of the last years of his life and has endeavored to induce others to do likewise. Liquor and tobacco are twin evils more damaging to humanity than all other evils combined.

Sarah: Wife of R.H. McDonald, great granddaughter of William Whipple, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
