OBIT SIMON:

Dr Simon DuBois died at his home at Washingtonville, Orange Co, NY on Tuesday, aged about fifty-nine yrs. The deceased was a son of Daniel A DuBois of the town of Rosendale. He studied medicine, became a doctor and located on the other side of the mountain where he practiced for a time and then moved to Washingtonville, Orange Co, where he lived many years. At one time he was engaged in the drug business with his brother Jacob in Kingston. The deceased leaves one son Matthew, who is a physician also one daughter. Dr S D Dubois, died a few days ago at Washingtonville, Orange county. He was a son of Daniel A DuBois, and his wife Gertrude Wurts of New Paltz, and a grandson of the noted physician of years ago, Dr J Wurts. Dr DuBois was one of seven children only two surviving him, Mrs James Oakley of Highland, NY, and Dr JW DuBois of Maryland. Dr Simon D DuBois married Sarah L Hasbrouck daughter of Matthew Hasbrouck, of Marshall, Mich., and had two children Hattie E. and Matthew II, his son, who studied for the medical profession and is at present practicing at Washingtonville, Orange county. Dr S D DuBois was a graduate of Mercantile College at Syracuse, also the Bellevue Medical College, NYc. He was 58 years of age. From Poughkeepsie Sunday Courier.

Mrs Frank Hasbrouck, widow of Dr Simon DuBois, died on Saturday at her residence at Washingtonville, Orange county, of Pneumonia, aged 68 years. She leaves two children, Dr Matthew H DuBois and Hattie DuBois. Interment at New Paltz on Wednesday. There were present at the interment, beside the children, relatives from Highland and J.P. LeFevre and daughter of New York. From New Paltz Independent March 20, 1908
