He Shared With Us The Power of His Love
Sylvain Denis Joseph Dallaire
Born at Lac Megantic, Quebec, Sylvain is survived by one son, Jourdain Daniel Schapansky and extended family members Debra, Brent and Sara Schapansky of Peace River. Also survived by his parents, Leo and Gabrielle Dallaire of Gould, Quebec. He leaves behind 9 brothers and sisters. Sylvain was raised in the rural village of Gould, Quebec and came to Alberta at the age of 19. He lived and worked in the Slave Lake area. He also spent time working in Williams Lake and Ft. Nelson, B.C. before moving to Peace River. Sylvain was a logger and a pipeline slasher by trade and often said that tree sap ran through his veins. When he was not travelling, fishing, or visiting friends, he was working in the bush where he felt most at home. Sylvain always came to Peace River to visit his son Jourdain upon emerging from the bush for spring breakup, Christmas or between jobs. While working, fishing, hunting and travelling throughout western Canada, Sylvain touched the lives of many with kindness and generosity. His touch was fleeting but sweet and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
