DAVENPORT - Services for Willie Mae Sanders, 70, of 1829 W. 58th St., will be 1 p.m. Friday at Progressive Baptist Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Mrs.Sanders died Sunday at St. Luke's Hospital, Davenport.
Nicholson Funeral Home, Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements.
She was employed as a cook and dietitian at the Clayton House, Davenport.
Willie Parks married Joe Sanders in 1946 in Louisville, Miss. She was a member of Mount Olive Church of God in Christ, Davenport, for more than 17 years, a mother of the church, and a former member of the usher board.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Survivors include her daughters, Lela Harrington, Eliza-beth Babers, Ruby Faye Sanders, Georgia Virginia Sanders, Annie Reed, and Michelle Sanders, all of Davenport; Mary Sanders, Rock Island; Edna Northlet, Austin, Texas; and Willie Jean Daniels, of Hawaii; sons, Lavell Sanders, Davenport; and Roosevelt Sanders and Ruffus "J.C." Friday, both of Louisville, Miss.; 60 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, James Parks, Gary, Ind.; and an uncle, Walter Hickman, Louisville.
She was preceded in death by sons, Doug Parks in 1989, and Joe Lee Sanders and Joe Sanders Jr.
