Also known as Monterey Cemetery. Formerly known as the Community Cemetery, this pine-covered, old cemetery is located on Seville Street near the busy intersection of Monterey Boulevard and SR76 in Stuart. At one time, it was solely an African American cemetery. A marker on the north side of Seville Street is dedicated to the unmarked gravesites that reportedly were displaced or covered up during the widening of Monterey Boulevard. The earliest marked burial appears to have been about 1918.
